This is probably my first review of my first decent IEM headphones. Most of the time, i use Sony MDR XB950 (also have AT M50X, but factory ear cups are uncomfortable, so i'm looking for a good alternative to replace them), so my opinion about Echobox X1 may look a bit unfair.
Packaging looks and feels nice and the style of packaging somewhat reminds me of Apple products. One problem i have stumbled upon was filter withdrawal. You just simply can't take these little filters without bruising/cutting the foam, which keeps headphones and its components.
Sound is pretty decent if you ask me, but it lacks a bit of deepness/richness (and probably bass), which XB950 has, but i think that's probably because IEMs are not as powerful, as over ear headphones. I have tested all of the filters and even though the sound changes, the main construction of the sound is still there, so in the end, all of the filters are pretty much the same. For example, when i tried bass filters, i noticed the low frequency sounds more than other mids and highs, but the change of sound was not something groundbreaking. Same goes for treble filters, but the preference filters (also known as balance filters) have more natural and overall good sound than the other two.
Most of the time i use X1 when i'm going for a walk or at work, because they are quite portable compared to over ear headphones and for 50$ price, they are pretty good.
CraveThank you for the review! Have you tried switching the AFT to the Bass Heavy ones?

JoshThomasHey Josh, how did can you sell these so cheap? Seems a little on the too good to be true side but by the reviews it seems not

JoshThomasYou are welcome, Josh. By AFT, do you mean automatic fine tuning? If i'm right, i have already tried it in Realtek HD audio manager and the sound becomes a muffled mess, so i have left it on my usual settings (living room, soft)
CraveNo, our (Acoustic Filter Tuning) sound customization system, it allows you to change the sound to your liking!

JoshThomasOh, you meant the filters. Yes, I've tried all of them and tested each filter with all kinds of music for 5-6 hours. As i mentioned in my review, the only filter's sound that i liked is the reference filters. The overall sound, which the headphones produce is more suited with the reference filters than with bass or treble filters. If by your first message, you asked if i tried putting other filters to them except the ones, which you get in a package, then no, i have not tried that.
