Finally convinced myself to commit. Even though I don't live in the city, where I feel this scooter has its real value, I still think this will be nice taking to work 3 miles down the road and using on campus (with a full backpack) instead of hoping in my big gas thirsty truck all the time. Although remaining cautiously optimistic I'm still hoping I can reach top speeds on this thing. Being a big guy at 6'3'' 220lbs who frequently lifts weights it might be a bit of a stretch, even on level ground.

christian.st.julianThe fewer uphill climbs you have, the better chance it'll hit top speed. It's all about momentum. I know that going up a 20 deg climb with about 150 lbs cuts mine to about half/three-quarters speed, but at the end it's faster than walking for me.

christian.st.julianI have an ecoreco scooter. I weigh just over 200 lbs. The scooter ranges from 17 mph to 23.3 mph full speed depending on the wind and road conditions. That is on a flat pathway.
