...and I just read Massdrop's return policy. Anyone from NYC using these?

Budfrump2I'm in NYC and plan on using these. I don't think there's anything in the law restricting the use of these guys. Most of what I read seems to only address gas powered vehicles(all prohibited unless registerable) and electric bikes which are limited to 750W or 1HP and travel no more than 20MPH.

Budfrump2LOTS of people in NYC are enjoying these scooters. Go over to Nyce wheels and take a test ride if you are on the fence about it. I got one of my Go Motorboards from them in 2005. They carry the EcoReco scooter, and test rides are free all day!
