Could I bug EcoReco for some measurements of a fully assembled M5? I'm trying to see if one would be safe to fit on a bike rack like those on LADOT and LA Metro busses. They are made for any standard freestanding bike.
Here's a picture of one:

raz528It might do better with you in the bus, since you can simply slide it under your seat after collapsing it.

wild_oneYeah, but these busses get full at times and there's barely any room for my bag, let alone a folding scooter. I know one of the selling points is that it's pretty small and compact folded, but if it can safely use a bike rack, it would save up some room!

raz528Considering that the scooter isn't as long as a bike, and quite obviously isn't as tall as a bike, I'm not entirely sure how you'd secure it in front without it flying off when the bus stops. As for dimensions, the M3 is listed as such:
Size “upright”: 38 × 22 × 46 in (height adjustable) “folded”: 36.6 × 5.5 × 11.8 in
The M5 should not be that much different, maybe an inch extra height.

wild_oneGot it. Folding it will be the only way, then. It'll be a bit bothersome at times, but that'll be the way it goes!
I wonder what it looks like if you put it into the bag they mentioned? Will it be like a duffel bag with a scooter in it?
I know some spots have a bike lock that goes on top of a bike. Perhaps one could lock a scooter into one of those locks, or use a U-lock in-between the wheel and the frame?

raz528We have a similar rack system in SF and if I were forced to put this on the rack, I'd look into U-locking it on to make sure it doesn't fall off. Be careful it doesn't dangle and get dragged around though....
