Holding an Edge of Belgravia knife is an experience that can only be described as futuristic. From their lightweight build to their angular shape, these knives have clearly been created with user experience in mind Read More
I hate to be a hater, but... knife sets are for suckers. You're getting 2 or 3 useful knives in this set and a bunch of filler, and a silly knife block that's going to eat up your counter space.
You need one good chef knife, a bread knife, a paring knife. Maybe a boning knife can be handy if you deal with a lot of whole fish, poultry, primals - my guess is that no one who's looking at this set does. And no one needs a slicer unless you do a ton of roasting - and then you want at least 10".
A 7.5" slicer is damn near useless, and I'd say the same for a 7.5" bread knife. Oh, and this particular slicer will be pretty much impossible to sharpen due it's bolster.
I bought them for my wife and she does not like them at all, she said they're not very sharp at all and feel cheap. We never pretend to be happy with a gift or anything we may buy each other. It's sort of an unwritten rule in our house. Really so we don't waist money. I wish massdrop listed in big bold writing before checkout that there are absolutely no returns.
Man, I wish I could've known about this before I ordered the last edge of belgravia off massdrop a couple months ago. I would have absolutely gone for the more expensive set.
