I currently own a pair of Behringer MS16s and I'm looking to find something more visually and aurally attractive. Do these fit the bill, or should I hold out for something better?
Bought these to connect to a laptop running Bias FX Desktop...phwoar! They sound GREAT at any volume...but then again, my son and I play metal, so we're looking for heavier tone. I haven't listened to music much through them, but of that I have I didn't notice any tonal imbalances as someone else commented. Very happy with my purchase.
uctechyes I know, uctech. Thank you for your input. To each his own I guess.Who knows maybe sometime down the road we'll consider these again?( R1280T ).Enjoy the day!!
Got these from Amazon a few months ago. They do look pretty awesome, and the build quality is good, but the sound for my personal taste is rather disappointing. These speakers are really good for bass heavy music like pop, rap, and stuff like that: the bass is very strong and makes this BOOM BOOM BOOM, that many people tend to enjoy. However, if you're trying to listen to rock, or anything that has bass guitar and/or drums in the record, most likely you won't be happy with the sound because the bass overlaps the instruments and vocals, so the music sounds very muddy, unclear, and just bad in general.
Yes, both the bass and the treble is adjustable, but even with the minimum bass and the maximum treble (or at any other position) they sound equally muddy. However, if you're listening to a song with a strong beat it's nice to add even more bass.
What equalizer are you using. These speakers sound great with my Airport Express, but when I pug my AT PL-50 turntable in, with pre-amp on, they sound really muddy. I'd like to put an equalizer in between them.
el3xtroskyI'd definitely go with the M10s over these. I originally had a pair of these, and then upgraded to the Swans. Although the Swans lack bass, the treble and midrange is far better than these speakers. They almost sound "muddy" on say, Dark Side of the Moon or other really intricate records. If you're just looking for a pair of computer speakers or "multimedia" they should work fine. But anything like vinyl, you can do better with the Swan M10s IMHO. Not an audiophile, just a guy who has owned both and kept the Swan M10s.
LanessarThanks for the help man. Never checked Massdrop or Drop since that post haha. Oddly enough I did get the M10, a fellow audio freak and good friend of mine gave them as wedding gift.
