Seriously, it's not terrible. Everyone should have a least one quartz watch and this one has more than enough water resistance to take a shower or a dip in the pool. Comes in at just under two-hundred smackers, and isn't shy at 44mm x 13mm--that means legibility should be excellent (even without your cheaters on). I have a few quartz watches and whenever I pick one up and see them ticking away, and always displaying the correct time, (no matter how long I've neglected them), I smile and say to myself: "damn it--quartz watches are a modern miracle! Don't let anybody tell you different ;- )

Point well taken. The only things I have to say are tough solar and eco drive. Both work for at least 10-15 years and you start seeing the low power well before total failure. Even if the battery is failing they can usually be kept on life support with daily sunbaths until a battery replacement arrives! In my book those are the most practical watches for day to day and many of them are presentable/iconic enough to be worn in polite society. Add one good and status signifying mechanical watch (preferably no Rolex/Omega that became like Nike basket shoes in popular culture) to wear with a formal black suit or going to the opera and you’re all set for a long time 😊. (true will be missing the pleasure of looking for new toys)

Haha, “It’s powered by a Swiss quartz battery”. Nice. Never heard of one of those.

BeastMDAnd only 30% of the battery has to be made in Switzerland to qualify!
