It is as stiff as you've probably heard. This thing is bomber. I use it as my main luggage bag when traveling and I need to check a bag. It's been beat up and bounced around and looks no worse for wear.
Bigger than I thought lol... But it's great, has a lot of small pockets, strong material, nice design, feels sturdy. The straps are a bit vexing (4 straps, they can get tangled) and the zipper is tough to move, but overall I really like it. Perfect for a long weekend or a gym bag.
Sturdy, good material. Location of the attachments for the shoulder straps is better than some because you can fold them away from the main compartment.
I bought this as a replacement for a Jansport bag I had for more years than I can remember. Needed something to carry my gear to the pool in the mornings, and this bag was the ticket. Very spacious, it's almost too big for my purpose but it's nice to have the room if I need it. I had no plans to use the backpack straps, so they were tossed aside. As people have stated, although not truly waterproof the material feels waterproof and is very durable. I suspect this will hold up well, and the price was a good deal for a bag of this quality.
I've used this bag 3 times now on weekend camping trips, big enough for 4-5 changes of clothes and accessories/toiletries. I dig the materials, even as 'not totally waterproof' it's held up fine in some lighter rain sitting in the vestibule of my tent. The big zipper is great and dirt wipes right off, haven't used the backpack straps yet though.
