Are you able to take the backpack straps off completely on this? If not, do they tuck away discretely?

DSH007Yes, the "backpack" straps can be removed by unthreading the strap ends from the buckles (which are themselves sewn onto the top of the duffle). If you think you wanted to use the straps later, you can store them in the mesh pocket on the inside of the duffle's lid and reattach them later. They do not otherwise tuck away. See also my note about the straps below, starting, "If these are the same duffels....", for why you might wish to detach and reattach them even if you want to use them right away. (-:

jmk451Thank you for the details! I've never quite understood this relatively new trend of putting backpack style straps on duffel bags.. seems more of an inconvenience than anything to me.. idk, maybe i'm the crazy one..
