What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

The problem that I, and believe a lot of people here, have with justifying this price is that I can go onto PMK and buy a TKL set of DSA dye subs for $75. I can buy a pack of 10 PBT DSA blanks for $10 and a pack of PBT DCS blanks for $11 (the cost difference in cap production is almost negligible). There's no new technology here, there're no new molds that need to be made for custom double-shot legends. These aren't double-shot at all. So, why is it that this is the most expensive set thus far? It's mind boggling.
Add the picture that someone previously posted of the thickness of SP's PBT DCS keycaps and, as much as I want a set of black on black dye subs and I truly love the added colors here, I just can't justify the price. Unless I have a concrete explanation or proof as to why this set needs to be so much more expensive than past group buys, I can't help but feel like we the consumers are being taken advantage of.
However, what people seem to fail to realize is that we are offering great price drops (see link on description page). To cover a TKL you would only need $97 plus shipping. If you add the Industrial Pack, then that's $117, but in order for that to happen we would need 250 people joining the buy for the Alphas and 100 people for the other packs that I mentioned.
The longer people hesitate, longer it will take for us to reach such point.
Also, I don't know why this page is not being updated...
