Is the carbon fiber X wallet suppose to be slick on both sides? Mine is slick on the exterior sides but coarse on the interior sides. It's harder to take cards out and you can easily hear the cards scraping against the coarse sides. Over time and use, it'll damage the cards. It blows my mind that they didn't make the entire carbon fiber piece smooth. Pretty unhappy with the purchase for the carbon fiber X wallet.

ChristineLIt is carbon fiber. If you understand how carbon fiber is made you would understand why it is like this. As others have mentioned mouse teflon tape fixes this. However, I find the roughness to be okay and it doesn't seem to scratch my outermost card: my ID, and since I have cash on the one side I don't have to worry about it there. If you use it properly it also tends to minimize the amount of rubbing. you push the cards all the way out the one side and then squeeze the plates together to open it like a clothes pin.

tyler555I use multiple composites (carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiber glass) to build UAVs and micro UAV. Christine is correct. I'm not sure if you work with carbon fiber, but if you did, you would know it is certainly possible to create smooth surfaces on both sides. It's just that they didn't put in the effort do it. As for your comment on proper use of the wallet, there is still scratching.

valerie.serucowell any carbon fiber I have ever seen has been like that, so I guess I am incorrect. However, I still have not experienced any scratching with proper use of the wallet. I keep my ID on the outside.
