Made in Germany since 1960, Elysee watches undergo a rigorous set of background checks and ultimately pass through the hands of the master watchmaker in Düsseldorf. The Nestor is no different Read More
Regarding post deletion, could also possibly be false comments or scamming.
Considering the negative comments some products have on this website, some of which for drops priced way higher than this, it seems unlikely for Massdrop to delete something because of negative feedback. I single-handedly killed a drop before, and the comment is still there, so...
cgalnyThe European watch industry has long obscured the nasty details of origin of product.
The Swiss have established a certain set of percentages of labor and parts, no idea if Germany has set laws.
Deleting negative reviews and comments is an asshole move and the reason I'm not going to join this drop. I was tempted, but I don't want to support this business model.
Regarding the possibility that MD has deleted negative comments...that's something that could be indicative of a less than fully honest way to do business.
However, at $160, and everything else being equal, this may be a good deal. One thing about this watch is it's readily available (even Walmart), but for a much higher price. I don't recall recently seeing a made in Germany automatic, or even quartz, watch this cheap. I don't like open heart styled automatics very much, and Miyota movements even less. But for $160, this is tempting.
cgalnyMade in Germany means literally nothing.
Unless a company has some set percentage of how much of the watch manufactured in the country written on the product (like many of the Swiss manufacturers)
MD need to address what "watchkook" has proffered here.....if MD is censoring negative comments then that's a HUGE disappointment and complete bullshit. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!!!!
Unfortunate that comments about this product have been removed. Part of the value of MD for me are the insights from other participants. I would think the manufacturer/companies who participate would also find such information useful.
Have some comments been deleted? I recall there were some comments related to poor customer service for this company which seem to have disappeared. My headers shows 4 comments yet there is only 1 below.
watchkookI also remember seeing the referenced comment that's no longer here. I imagine it's to the manufacturer's AND Massdrop's benefit to remove such comments. Censorship at its finest :)
