Inspired by various locales around New York City, these Empire Apothecary candles are made of natural soy wax scented with essential oils and absolutes in a repurposed whiskey glass. The Black Oud candle sweeps you away to 5th Avenue, the heart of beauty, fashion, and extravagance in Manhattan. Fleur Mortes recalls the vibrant punk scene born out of the East Village, while Strange Paradise pays homage to the less industrious, often forgotten area of Murray Hill, where you find the true hustle and bustle of NYC. Finally, the Tonka candle is nostalgia at first whiff, taking you to the picturesque cobblestone crossings of SoHo. Like all of Empire Apothecary’s products, these candles are made in small batches to maintain the highest quality.

- For best use, allow candle to burn for at least 1 hour, or until the melted wax pool reaches the edge
Scent Notes
- Black Oud (5th Avenue): Strong citrus and herbal top notes of lemongrass and grapefruit fade to a sappy yellow tone, rooted in vetiver, balsam, and oud.
- Fleur Mortes (Avenue A): Deep animalistic notes of black currant bud and amber add a deep complexity to the intoxicatingly delicate notes of jasmine and ylang ylang.
- Strange Paradise (Lexington Avenue): Opening notes of pink peppercorn and grapefruit pass to a deep vetiver, fennel, and cardamom base chord, creating an earthy, flesh-toned finish.
- Tonka (Greene Street): Warm notes of tonka, vanilla, and coffee swirl together with bright notes of jasmine, orange, and lavender.
