PsychicJackLooks Nice. What cups did you get in the drop? What was your first impression? Mine shipped via FedEx on the 9th but the estimated delivery date is 21st.

AsimgekerBamboo cups, since I always planned on using Urushi cups. Honestly, not impressed at all with the packaging. My Focal Elex and HD6xx had more premium and substantial boxes.
Emus are fairly lightweight, can definitely notice the elevated bass response, mids are present but not necessarily amazing, there’s very little air up top. Compared to the Elex, I’d consider the Emu to be fun headphones especially for hip hop and rock. Despite the coloration, it’s well balanced and I’m really glad I bought them.
For the price I think they’re excellent, and really a nice deviation from the usual open back stuff. I’ll try EQing them for a more neutral FR, but I love them as they are. Too much fun for the genres of music I usually listen to, but for music with emphasis in the sparkle regions, or activities like gaming, I’d stick with something else.
keep in mind all of these impressions are with the urushi cups, I didn’t bother listening to the bamboo cups. Also, I was really not impressed with the quality of the bamboo cups, they look so drab and dull.
