I confess I left my enthusiasm for wine in my other pajamas, but the ratio of bottles to glasses suggested by this dingus seems a little out of whack to me (8 bottles to 16 glasses). In my calculus, any family that can legitimately keep 16 wine glasses busy (rather than gathering dust) would certainly need to stock more vino? Being the suspicious type, I decided to visit the Enclume's website to learn more. Here's what I discovered: first, MD's price represents a significant discount off the MSRP. Second, this rack is the lesser of the two models they sell. A big brother version adds a second story, to double your wine display/storage capacity. That unit looks more balanced (ascetically speaking) and corrects the ratio issue I mentioned above--with the caveat I initially lead with of course; I'm no wine drinker. But I offer this cautionary note to those who are: Consider carefully the weight of the rack, along with eight full bottles of wine and those 16 expensive glasses. I say mounting into studs is the only safe bet. Anyone who suggests dry wall anchors as an optional solution, is doing so because they're suggesting it for your house not theirs!
