Handmade in Enlightened Equipment’s facility in Winona, Minnesota, the Hooligan and Hoodlum will keep your head warm without weighing you down. You can use yours at night to supplement your sleep system, or on its own while out on the trail. Both styles use lightweight, breathable, and durable 10d nylon stuffed with moisture-resistant Climashield APEX insulation. The Hooligan features ear flaps for extra coverage, while the Hoodlum is built to keep your head and face warm in all situations—wet or dry. The face enclosure can be left open or snapped close, depending on how much airflow you want. Use the shock cord to comfortably secure the Hoodlum without obstructing your view or impeding your movement. Want to cover your eyes while you sleep? Pull the cord over the front and cinch it down tight.
Note: At checkout, choose the Hooligan (base price) or the Hoodlum (+ $5) in charcoal, forest, or navy and size M or L.
Founded in 2006 by camping enthusiast Tim Marshall, Enlightened Equipment specializes in handmade, lightweight sleeping quilts with a focus on innovation, craftsmanship, and good old-fashioned hustle. In 2014, the operation moved from Marshall’s tiny basement in Winona, Minnesota to a neighborhood shop near the Mississippi River, and in 2016, they moved again to an even bigger facility. Today, staffed by a group of gearheads and lifelong friends, the company continues to develop products that keep people comfortable in the great outdoors, including quilts, rain skirts, jackets, bivies, and other cold-weather accessories.
