Good flatware Worried that this will bend easily but really have-not put to test Very light in the hand (so if you like a heft to the silverware DO NOT buy) Cool item to have Wife has not seen yet. She hates the stuff I buy. Recommend

I have this set from the Kickstarter, and am purchasing this set here for my parents, as they have eaten with my set, have been looking for new cutlery and been unable to agree on anything for a few years now until this, as they like the aesthetic, the function and the material. I lent them two sets to try over time. They decided just after the last drop, and were happy this one came so soon so they could go for it. These pieces are extremely sturdy (I’ve been using the spoon to pry out rock hard ice cream from the freezer now that it’s hot with nary a bend nor wiggle). They function really well - wide and piercing enough fork tines, the cute small spoon perfect for stirring coffee or eating small bites, the large spoon great for stews or using to stir while I cook, the chopsticks are a comfortable length and the grip rings help (heavier than wood, as they are solid), the knife, though needs remediation to be anything other than a butter/jam spreader. Plus they are really easy to clean. The rectangular handles taper from thickest at the base to narrower at the end (easiest to see on the spoon pic), with the edges rounded enough to be comfortable, even if it is an unusual and oddly narrow handle on first encounter. The material declaration is in the same spot on the back handle as it is on most utensils, and not at all prominent during normal use, except the chopsticks if that side ends up turned up toward you and the light is catching it just so. Mom’s only reservation currently is that she will have to get a new cutlery drawer organizer as everything except the small spoon is too long for the slots in the one she has. FYI in case it matters to you: The volume of the smaller spoon bowl is precisely one teaspoon, and the larger is just slightly more than two teaspoons (large but shallow).
