This breaks my heart, because I have other pens from this company and I really love them. I feel like there was a completely different team working on this than all the others. Never in my years of using fountain pens, have I seen a tiny rubber o-ring as the entire cap retention system. These will, by nature, degrade and fail over time. Which makes it a disposable pen. I bought the brass version. And the very first time I removed the cap, I could not get it back on. I had to push so hard that the o-ring had the outer layer sheared off. You’d think after I inadvertently made the o-ring smaller, the cap would go on easier the second time. Nope. Its a struggle every single time. It baffles me that they assembled each and every one of these and said “yep, these are good to go”. Also this is designed to be a pocket pen. If you do carry it in your pocket, be prepared to lose the o-ring on the back, making it impossible to post and impossible for anyone with normal sized hands to write with. The body design is good and my nib was good. Some simple 1 rotation threads would have been fine, like all their other pens. Again, heartbroken.

SlicerGBAFirst, I do like the ENSSO brand, so this is not a review of ENSSO or their other products. I will also say that I had very good customer service from ENSSO when I needed to contact them about a nib replacement. I have the Ensso PIUMA in Brass, Black and Raw Aluminum and absolutely LOVE them. I ordered this XS Minimalist Pocket Pen when ENSSO had their Kickstarter. The PIUMA pens are some of my all time favorites and I imagined a new ENSSO design was bound to be great. WRONG. I ordered the black and the pen looked great in the box....... and the fun stops there. The pen is basically useless for writing. The o-rings on the cap do not stay in place when capping/uncapping and were useless after capping/uncapping the pen only a few times. With a cap that is not secure, I wouldn’t risk carrying this “pocket pen” in a pocket or purse. In addition, the o-rings at the back don’t allow for the cap to post securely, so the cap does not stay posted. Without being able to post the cap, you only have the very short barrel of the pen to grip if you want to write...... Basically... I inked it, I wrote a few lines and it went back in the box. I try to stay positive in my reviews and try to point out the things I enjoy and the unique qualities of the pens. I am afraid this is the first pen that I have little positive to say about. The look of the pen is great... but I like to use my pens and not just look at them. Very poor design for functional use.

j-e-gI agree with everything you said. But you should post this as a review, rather than a reply.

SlicerGBAI did not see an option for me t post a review, probably missed it. I assumed it may have been because I had not purchased mine thru Mass Drop... I ordered mine when ENSSO had their Kickstarter. Be happy to post it as a review, but don’t see where the option is.... sorry

j-e-gI see. Yes, I think you can only review if you purchased through Drop.
