Could someone explain why MD doesn't negotiate for a larger amount of people, a lower price? Are the higher volume discounts reserved for MD itself as incentive/profit?
I'm a big fan of profit, more so for myself, but they are missing sales, including mine at these prices.
I think it was Federated, now defunct, that would purchase on credit, and would blow everything out at the three month time frame, to avoid the fees, for less. Hence I wait for sales, and use shopping robots. While Federated is defunct, there are others still using variants of this practice.
I think that's why others can post a deal, and it's gone when someone tries to verify. They're MD's competition.

Xoted@Xoted,
We would love to negotiate for a larger amount of people and anxiously await the day this is possible. That being said this camera drop has historically had 3-4 members join so we negotiate for the higher end of that spectrum.
If you would like to see the price go down please show your support by requesting this item or voting on it in the polls.
Cheers!

JaysunThank you for the insight. However, while the prices better than I've found of reputable sites, they are still rather high, as somewhat evidenced with a single person signed up with one day to go. Perhaps having a lower price would draw more people in.
I was on the Canon site and they had some verbiage ask if you were planning to buy ten or more cameras to contact: http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/bulk-orders?cm_sp=CD-_-Footer-_-Bulk_Orders Perhaps having three or four tiers would be a good compromise.
