This doesn't seem like much of a deal even at the lowest drop price. Amazon has this for $28 shipped. At MassDrop's lowest price you're still paying $24.99 but you have to wait for them to ship it out. Is that really worth saving $3?
Sounds like an awesome game, I'm just skeptical as to why this is some kind of deal.
ZildjianI wouldn't call it a "must-purchase", but it is a quite entertaining lightweight card game. The art is maybe a bit niche, but if you like Adult Swim or anything like that you will probably love it, it's very well done and can be pretty hilarious with the right group. The card combining mechanic is instantly intuitive and allows for a surprising amount of strategy, aided by predetermined spell targets on the cards, so everyone can't just gang up on one player, and a simultaneous play/initiative mechanism that lets you choose power or speed. There is still an element of kill-the-leader as in Munchkin, but it's not nearly as game-defining. The main reason I don't play it super often is that with more than 3 players it runs rather long for the filler game that it is -- you have to be the last wizard standing twice, which in our games tends to mean as many rounds as players + 1.
Zildjian has a point, though, $20 + shipping is not an excellent price -- I mean Gears of War just went for that the other week and that's MSRP $60 IIRC. If you care about getting the best deal you might want to look elsewhere, but I'm also agreeing with TheWholeShoe that you won't regret joining the drop either.
edit: whoops, replied to the wrong person.
AldreneanI think it comes down to how fast you want it. If you need/want it in the next few days, then sure, Amazon is better. If you don't mind waiting a bit and saving a few bucks, then this is fine.
Not sure about anyone else, but given I have no shortage of games to play, waiting a few extra days to save a few bucks works for me.
givemeyourshoesPeople must have bought out the cheaper sellers that were there. This was available around $30 on Amazon with free shipping (no Prime options) just yesterday.
