Great hardware paired with some of the buggiest firmware/software I've ever used...
The GSP 670 was a let down for me, not even 7 months into ownership and the headset no longer produces sound when connected to a PC. It's the perfect example of fantastic hardware and comfort ruined by poor firmware and software. When it worked it was fine (sounded great, comfortable, etc), but even then the microphone had a quirk where it wouldn't register unless I took the headset off, plugged it in, adjusted the mic boom down WHILE it was plugged in, then unplug it. Overall the experience of this headset as a whole is frustrating, confusing, and unintuitive. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration...
I bought these having been impressed with every Sennheiser product I have purchased previously but the Sennheiser GSP 670 Wireless have not impressed me at all. I do not find the sound quality even close to a pair of old Astro A50s that I have had for years and they don't come anywhere close to Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless for sound, features, and software. They are heavy and to me, sit on the head kind of strangely and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them anywhere but in front of my gaming monitors at home. The software is what I would describe as "janky", it works ok but it can't compensate entirely for the less-than-stellar sound that I have come to expect from a Sennheiser product. It's funny too because I read and watched every review I could find on YouTube on these before purchasing and most reviews raved about how good they sounded despite their kinda strange aesthetic. I find them to be the least comfortable headset I own as well as being fugly when sitting on my noggin. The only thing positive I can say about them is that they appear to be a well-built product.
No problem met to connect the headset to my computer, the headset is comfortable and the sound quality is very good. I also installed the tool from EPOS website and update all the firmwares, nothing to say about the software.
I like them. I don’t love them. They sound pretty good. I really like the large volume dial as a “power” button. They get hot - I would prefer a leather ear cup with a more suede texture touching my face (like another brand cans that I had for gaming before I decided to try these). Also - not USB-C foe charging?? Come on....
Overall, I’m not bummed that I bought them, but I’ll still keep a wandering eye for something better.
The sound on these compared to my Astro a50’s is hands down far better. The forward position of the top band takes a moment to get used to. Doing some light head banging and they stay on. The headphones do eliminate a bit of outside noise my keyboard tapping when from loud tap to light clicks with them on. Doing voice chat my friends said I sound closer and next to them which is a good improvement over many headset mics. The one thing that I don’t really enjoy is the poor Bluetooth connection to my pc, it just doesn’t work and cuts out. Have not yet tried connecting to my phone so hopefully it doesn’t cause issues when I go on a trip.
