Mind Blowing Improvement
I purchased this amplifier at the same time as a new pair of nice headphones, however the headphones came about 1-2 weeks earlier then the amp did. I got to use them and enjoy the really nice quality of them for a good while before the amp arrived. I knew that once I got it, it would add to the quality of sound and make things better but I honestly didn't expect it to do too much. After the amp arrive I hooked it up ready to play some music and movie's etc. to test it out... But what I didn't expect was the dramatic difference it made. The music preset is actually perfect for listening to music, and the movie preset is just as good! I also love that is comes with a stereo preset so you can quickly change between them to hear the difference. Now, about the gaming preset, it doesn't have to absolute best sounds but for gaming it's actually really good especially if you play competitively because you can hear foot steps and other movement sounds extremely well! I don't usually play competitive so I usually just use the movie preset since that seems to work better for me. Honestly though, between the different presets and being able to make a custom one I'm sure you'll find a perfect fit. Ultimately it's really just awesome all around! Oh, it's also nice because it sets up a second audio channel for "communication" this way you can chat with friends on something like Discord and change your preset settings for your games/programs and it doesn't effect the sound of your friends. Overall, it greatly improves sound quality, has amazing presets, has convenient audio channels, it's easy to set up, and provides an amazing experience! If you can afford it, I definitely recommend this amp!

Best one-stop Dac/Amp/Controller
Purchased with the black PC38Xs. Holy Moly. Go to Apple music and listen to the Rumours 45th anniversary album on lossless spacial audio. Then set the epos controller to 7.1 and increase the delay. Sounds like you're in the studio. The surround sound software must be incredible. Sound {38xblack}- beautiful open sound stage. More V-shaped than the 58x. Which means less Senn veil, more sparkles up top and more Clearly defined bass. This review is about the gsx1000 though. The ability to change the settings so easily is super convenient. I switch the delay setting a lot. Sometimes the extra 'echo' helps me to hear the other players. The surround sound is incredible. The setup was easy plug and play. Using With MacBook pro.

I have been using this for a couple days now, so far has been good. Basic 2.0 stereo at 24 bit 96kHz mode sounds great and brings a whole new brighter and full sound to my hd 599's which aren't bright and more neutral but with the gsx 1000 music sounds a lot better. Now to gaming, the 7.1 surround sound hasn't been used a lot by me so far but it's basically everything you've heard about it. Opens everything up around you. Sounds good depending on the game and all. Just like music this amp brings out better sounds in any game with or without surround sound. I got it on a discount and if you want this amp, wait for a deal. Positives: looks great, sounds great. Lots of customization. Volume wheel is a huge benefit imo but it's smooth so no tactile feedback when changing volume which is fine with me but maybe a con for some. Cons: No tactile feedback on volume wheel. Only supports up to 150 ohm headphones and for the price above 200 isn't worth it so like I said before. People said it's easy to move around just by a tug, I haven't found this as a problem. To sum it up this is a gaming amp which will make anything you do sound better. This is my first amp so I don't know much but I can recommend this product. Music is underrated on this. Gaming is what you've heard about. To set it up, watch the official video. https://youtu.be/JkxOWKCoCkc

Overall best you can get
The GSX1000 solves all of my audio issues as well as ones I didn't know I had. The ability to switch between speakers and headphones on the fly as well as 7.1 that actually sounds good and looks great and easy to use. Expensive but worth it for me.

This thing is just god tier
Setup took 10 min, hardest thing is getting windows to configure everything like bit rate and such. After that its just pure eargasm. for the price the features are just too good to passup.

Great Sound and Features indeed
It needs a little workaround to use it on linux (specially on arch linux idk why). But after that, it works perfectly (with minor exceptions)

ArphunixOn Manjaro, I switched from PulseAudio to PipeWire and now I don't require the workaround.

Love this amp, looks really nice, sounds really nice. Sometimes it turns off and I have to unplug it for it to play audio.

Typical Sennheiser
Easy to use, more than enough features, easy to access volume and features, etc. Well done. Only negative worth mentioning is that it doesn't have tons of power. Will run my headset to the point of being too loud but obviously couldn't drive big planars very well. Well done.

Snap Crackle Pop - Solved?
For months since I bought it, this thing has had static and crackling. I've updated the software and drivers, tried various bit depths and sample rates, you name it. Most of the time there is some static, popping, or crackling in the background that I can't get rid of. The drivers are ancient and there is no sign they will be updated. It's a shame, the unit looks like it ought to be a winner. EDIT: I tried a few other things including plugging the unit into a USB port on my front panel instead of the back, and switching to 24-bit, 44.1 KHz, and now I have no noise. Bumping this review from 1 star to 4 stars. EDIT (next day): Never mind, same issue is occurring again. Going to switch to another product (Sound Blaster X4).

I really like it, it improved game sound for me
With first person shooters, sometimes stealth and being able to hear your opponents first is the difference between winning and losing, and this definitely helped me. However, it's down one star because the manuals that come with this are almost completely worthless. You don't need the documentation to figure out how to hook it up, the pictures are very easy. However, there's no documentation on what the buttons on the dial actually do. You can guess on some of them, but if you have to use a search engine to figure out how to optimize it, the documentation isn't good enough. I had no idea what 2 of the functions did for over a month, because I didn't look it up.
