Also rokits are hardly even prosumer monitors. They aren't at all flat. They are made to sound good and have a huge bump in the low end which is the opposite of what you want in a studio monitor

i'd like to hear from someone from massdrop, see whether they are krk's with a different logo, a new manufacturer reusing the old enclosure, or...?

zweldoni agree - I thought they were possibly KRK's rebranded - this is weird.

bermudai've got a pair of krk rokit g2's in red right in front of me, so i can help do *some* comparison. i love them for the price, great amateur musician studio monitors, have them also hooked up to my sonos system.

okay so there are subtle differences in their designs which means that these are a weird copy of the design rather than a clone or (authorised) reproduction of KRKs old design...

the13lawKRK uses Chinese OEM manufacturers for their Rokits. There are many brands that look like a pair of Rokits

With a floor of 45Hz, is this actually suited for studio use? It won't show any low frequency noise.

Fair enough, but I expected a little more from a "pro audio" labelled community as compared to an "audiophile" community. But oh well.

pydsignerNo harm done broseph. I use a pair of Neumann KH120 and even they dont go below 45Hz.
However to be able to access such low sub sub frequencies, a room has to be a lot bigger than the average bedroom producer's

Is it just me, or does these look EXACTLY like Rokit 8 gen 2s? Even the epsilon logo is where the KRK logo would be, unless they genuinely are a rebrand or they bought the rights to the gen 2 enclosure in which case ignore what I said... Just, never heard of this company before so my first encounter with them possibly being a clone of someone elses product is, odd...

the13lawthey have kind of cloned the KRKs. The Rokits sound much better and the Epsilons are just kind of a scam. Used to have a pair and they sounded okay but not $400 good. My M-Audio BX5 D2s sounded better lol

FYI, the MSRP appears to be reflecting a pair of monitors (@ $200 each), while the Massdrop price is presumably a single monitor.

robtoeYeah, seems kinda manipulative to me. The monitors definitely MSRP for $200 single and not $400. This drop is saving you ~$40 per monitor, not ~$240.
