FWIW, I highly recommend mounting the 2x caps with their upper (more vertical) edge facing the main cluster -- at least with the 2x keys nearest the main cluster, though you may wish to mount the adjacent 2x cap the other way (i.e. mirrored), to give some tactile differentiation between adjacent 2x keys. This moves the cap face a few mm closer to the cluster, which helps with the thumb-reach concerns some have reported. Though I didn't buy-in for this set, I actually ordered the 2x Row 3 cap from SP for this position (and may yet try a Row 4 here), as having the cap face slope slightly down towards the main cluster makes it easy and comfortable to strike glancing blows with the flank of my thumb, and I used a Row 4 Vertical cap (numpad Enter key) for the adjacent key to give some tactile differentiation and terraced separation from the 1x Ctrl key above it.
