Have you thought of offering the case in wood? I would love to get one in bamboo, which can be milled out as easily as acrylic or aluminium.

johngbSay, that bamboo wooden case idea sounds fantastic. I was considering forgoing the case to cut my own from wood, but the plate-mount layer would probably still need to be acrylic (or aluminum), which would be challenging to cut by hand (unless I went with PCB-mount switches, which I'd have to source myself... this then becomes a can o'worms); however, at least making the other layers from bamboo sheet would likely turn out quite warm and classy looking!

SubGothiusI think the way to do it would be to keep the plate layer in something like aluminium, and just substitute the other layers in wood. I would much prefer this to the acrylic or full aluminium options. If Massdrop don't offer this option, I would join in with anyone else going for this in a group buy.
