If I want to use this with a 32'' benq monitor ( bl3201ph), the monitor is 18lbs without its base. Which version would work/should I get?

jjkfengYour monitor falls between the weight limits for the PC version(8.4-17.8lbs) and the HD version (20-30.8lbs). Too heavy for the PC and too light for the HD.

MegG45I would get the one that supports more weight and add some weight to your monitor if needed

jribPlease note the specifications list up to 27" monitors. The pivot will fail with a 32" monitor.

MegG45What do you mean "the pivot will fail"?

captainThe monitor will start to droop where the pivot attaches to the arm.

jjkfengIf that's the 32" 4k Benq, I'm considering the same monitor, since apparently nothing will support a 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display, model A1083 without $100s in extras. It looks like this arm won't support the Benq either. sigh

MegG45So, are you telling me that the weight distribution of a monitor is non-uniform, or that the moment arm of inertia on one side of a uniform distribution mass will not counter the same moment arm on the other side? One makes sense, the other would seem to violate the laws of physics. :-p
I guess the reason doesn't really matter (I'm just the curious type) if the 30-32" monitors will flop around because the torque they exert on the final pivot mount is too great, then this probably isn't the monitor arm for me. I might acquiesce and get a 27", but my eyes really like the 30" CD, and I assume the Benq32" will be even better. I just want to be able to pull it out from against the wall to over my lap at eye level, then push it back out of the way. Maybe I should just rig up a kind of barn door system... Thanks for the inspiring chat! :-)

captainI am simply conveying the specifications as they are provided by our engineering team. Please see Brian Hutchin's comments and photos that he provided from a discussion that occurred 5 weeks ago- from a previous drop.

captainI currently have the PC version in Gray. It is supporting a 32" HP Omen monitor which specs say is 18.04 LBs. It works well, I don't rotate or do anything fancy. But occasionially I do see it start to sag a little bit. I wonder if I just need to tighten the spring more? Anyway it does NOT rotate by itself so don't worry about that. The only issue I see is the weight and I"m thinking about bringing that one home and buying the HD but I prefer Gray not silver, so I may just skip altogether.
