Any chance of adding their new dual freedom arm setup to the next drop?

For the heavy duty arms, what model does it say on the box? I ordered the heavy duty arm from amazon 3 damn times and they keep sending me the one with the standard model. The supported weight for maximum weight is false, and I am so frustrated with having to buy, wait, and return, then repeat, 3 times and now right back to where i started over a week ago!
Does anyone else have issues with the arm actually supporting the listed weights? I have a 16lbs monitor in which the standard arm says it can hold more than 17lbs, but it drops so hard that it acts like my monitor is 30 lbs...

If you are set on getting this arm, I would get the heavy duty. I decided to keep my standard arm despite Massdrop saying that I could return it because I have another monitor that I could use it for. Unfortunately the false weight limits do force us to take points away from the product despite the fact that it is probably one of the best, if not the best, looking monitor arms.

JustFluxzSounds like you have an adjustment issue on setting up the arm. I would encourage you to contact our tech support group via chat on our web site or call 1 877-523-2767

Can someone explain what the difference between this and a $30 one on Amazon is? How is this better? They all have positive reviews, cheap and expensive alike. And why are the heavy duty and regular the same price? What's the point in getting the regular then?

SlushoMonitor weight support. You want it adjusted to your monitors weight so it moves and suspends freely

SlushoDepending on the specific model, you can only articulate the arms in certain fashions. All of them do so a little differently. Having tried other brands too I moved to one of these as I prefer the movement personally, though having a USB port would have been a really nice addition. The inexpensive ones will probably do just fine for most people and most monitors. As many people said, check the weight ratings of the models and your monitor.

would this support a 32" monitor if it weighed less than the limit?

OttoverdunYes, it will support it fine. The main problem is that even on the lowest tension setting for the spring, it may not stay exactly where you place it, and keep rising to the top of the vertical range.

I've got the ErgoTech Freedom Heavy Duty with a Dell 32" monitor. Build quality is great and the gas shock adjustment works really well and seems to hold up. The one issue is the spring that controls the tilt (hinge joint just behind where the monitor attaches). It was fine at first, but now is getting too loose - to the point where no matter how the tilt is set, it will just droop down so that the monitor no longer remains perpendicular to the horizontal. Anyone else encounter this?
