Got my Freedom Arm today.
I guess I'll find out this weekend if the Asus PG348Q (34" Ultrawide) is to light as it appears it might be just under the recommended 20 lbs minimum.
Fingers crossed!
DatFrenchGuyI'll let you know over the weekend. I have it here, but have yet to set it up. I'm of Friday to Monday this weekend, so I'll have time to try the setup.
DatFrenchGuyJust finished setting the Asus PG348Q with the freedom arm HD. The monitor is too light, even after making the tension as light as it will allow. I set the arm as low as it will sit on the support that attaches to the desk to get it to me low enough to be usable.
I can push it so it actually touching my desk but as soon as I let go it goes up to where you see it in the picture below. I can rise it about 1/4" to 1/2" if I pull up on it. At this hight it ok and usable for me, but it's about as high as I'd normally use it with no adjustment down, and I like to lower it more for most everyday use.
I'm going to have to eventually get the regular Freedom arm to give me a little more flexibility.
I would not recomend the HD versuion for the Asus PG348Q or the Acer X34 as they are too light.
DatFrenchGuyAfter 24 hours it seem i've gained a little more range of motion now. hopefully that will improve a little more over time. I may consider finding a way to add 2 or 3 pounds to it so I don't have to buy another arm.
DatFrenchGuyAfter placing my headphones on the monitor (5 of them) and seeing the difference I ran out to Wall-Mart looking for ankle weights. I ended up buying 4 lbs of walking weights because they where less expensive than the ankle weights.
It works great! I just have to get some straps (velcro maybe) to strap them to the arm so they don't hinder the movement.
RojasTKDMD needs to implement some sort of gifting system, the way that Reddit has Reddit Gold. I'd hook you up! Saved me a lot of time and some money as well.
Anyway, take care!
HaysRyan93I have no experience with that version , but as long as the weight is supported I imagine it should work fine.
I do think the desk version is better for a desk, unless the desk can't support the desk arm.
