I'm a sucker for small fixed blades, but why is a 3.4 inch, 1 ounce piece of 1095 so expensive? Makes me glad I got the TOPS Sneaky Pete Mini earlier.

Not just 1095, but (most likely) a mass-produced, waterjet-cut piece of 1095. I like the Wharncliffe blade, though. For $25 - $30, I’d take one. $40 for a tiny, skeletonized 1095 knife is a bit much.

I got one of these on bladehq for 49.99 I think. It's a cool little knife for a backup, can fit into an Altoids tin, and the magnetic sheath is a pretty cool concept. However, if you want more blade and don't mind it taking up a little more space the candiru is about the same price for the same steel. Though the wharncliffe of the pinch is a much nicer blade shape, so...
