My kid created a similar kit for high school entrepreneur class. Didn't have the luxury of bulk purchasing discounts, and admittedly didn't have a razor blade knife per se but did have some medications. It was nearly identical otherwise and half the cost of this drop. Including his profit.

Oops. Silly me. Tricked again with another great deal that I cannot get because I am Canadian. Forgot about the "no great deals for Canadians" rule. OH well I am sure there will be something for a whopping 10% off for me soon.

I don't understand the utility of these type of kits. If I'm going camping or backpacking I have good gear for the situation, as do most experienced adventureres. Even on a day hike, I have at least the basics with me. And when I say basics, I mean I could survive for a few days (not comfortably, but I'd be OK). I can't see a scenario where I'd carry just this in my pocket and head out anywhere where it would come in handy. I guess it's a mindset and preference. If you like to go super light and shove this in a pocket and head out, more power to you. Maybe long distance trail running?

Ha--all this chatter about how you could do the same or better with your own stuff and an Altoids tin! Well let me remind you--if you had decided to put sticky-stuff on the back of little yellow slips of paper, you could have been the guy who invented Post-it Notes (instead of Al Gore)! Talk is cheap, men of action are harder to find!

No water tablets. No first aid. No space blanket.

CalaverasgrandeAgreed on water tablets. A few of them would easily fit in there.

I see nothing useful for zombie killing.

$26.95 at knifeworks.com. I imagine you could also invest in an Altoids container and fashion together your own kit at a fraction of that cost.. https://www.knifeworks.com/esee-mini-survival-kit-in-black-tin.html

DSH007Yeah this seems incredibly overpriced for what it is. The button compass manufacturer is not even stated.

DSH007Exactly. We utilized tampons and pads for kinetic injuries. Add a 2.99 firestarter, .99 brass wire from ACE and you can build this kit for about 10 - 15 bucks and you have better quality too. Use silicon self fusing tape and you can waterproof on top
