Passive Floorstanding Speakers With AMT Technology
The ESS 6-inch AMT speakers are part of a lineup of audiophile-grade floorstanding speakers that contain the ESS Heil AMT (Air Motion Transformer). The original air motion transformer was created by noted German physicist Oskar Heil, and his patent was licensed exclusively to ESS Laboratories for production in the US. The ESS Heil AMT uses revolutionary technology based around a double-sided diaphragm and its magnetic components, which allow the sound signal to move five times faster than it would with the air motion of a conventional cone driver. Each piece of these speakers is cut, assembled, painted, and individually tested by hand, and this Massdrop-exclusive version is complete with a stylish semi-gloss black finish.
