A Slim Everyday Swiss Timepiece

Eterna has been making quality Swiss timepieces since 1856. Named for the founding location and year of the brand, the Granges 1856 automatic is an everyday watch with great specs. To start, it’s powered by Eterna’s in-house 3030 movement, which has 24 jewels and a 48-hour power reserve. The movement itself measures just 4.6 millimeters thick, which is a key reason for the watch’s remarkably slim profile of just under 10 millimeters. Made of stainless steel, the case sports a sapphire crystal on both the front and back—the back to showcase the movement’s inner workings. Available with multiple dial layouts, the Granges 1856 has a minimal look and a date window at 3 o’clock. Get it on your choice of leather or stainless steel.

Note: At checkout, choose from the following models: 7630.41.13.1227, 7630.41.15.1227, 7630.41.15.1322, or 7630.41.53.1227.

OK Drop'rs... bear with me, because you may think this is the wrong venue for this gripe... but as a long term and many dollar Drop'r myself... I know you may be led down the same creepy and deceptive road that I myself have fallen for! So... think of this as me looking out for you!! It all begins wiwth a couple of sad notes for me and Eterna... and, tho this be Drop... can I say this; Ashford I blame myself... as I missed the Eterna Granges Drop here and really wanted to add one of their classic designs from this storied marque to my collection... so, the sadness begins... Once I realized that I had missed the Drop of the Eterna Granges, I looked for another seller and found that there were only a couple sources... and 1 of them had a "New Year" discount code for 20% off... ASHFORD OK... so I'm a sucker for a good deal. I've never purchased from ASHFORD before (never will again), but...yes I went ahead and built a profile and ordered it...Even paid for expedited shipping! Got the watch on Monday... it is a beauty to be sure! Set it and did what all us watch nuts do, began looking fondly at it and comparing the time to the atomic clock reference to see how it performed, being a fully inhouse reference I was really looking forward to the results. Did really well over the first day and advanced about 20 seconds... I was excited! The next morning I noticed that the dual window date (should have read 14 being I received it on the 13th) read half blank in both windows and only the half severed digits that should have been there! I was chagrined but confident that this may just be an anomaly from not being wound and worn but a few hours... set the date ahead to the proper view and moved on... The next morning...today actually... I noted that I once again only was seeing the serif of the 1 and the ass of the 5... CRAP! this is a DOA!! So...what does a wise collector do? Call ASHFORD's customer service department to request a replacement watch... because what self respecting retailer would allow a PROFILED customer to be disappointed 2 days after receiving this beautiful (but discounted) watch? Oh...that's right... it was ASHFORD! They indicated to me that because I had put it on, it was not returnable... did I say this loud enough? NOT RETURNABLE after only 2 days with a clear MFG DEFECT! DROP... I will give you this...I purchased an Oris from you that was a bit dingaling out of the box and you allowed it to come back with no questions asked... straight refund! But oh no... not ASHFORD... Sorry dude, you gotta send that puppy back to Switzerland or where ever the spastic hell it came from... So that is the tale my Drop'r friends... be sure that you are not lured by your grinning desire for pretty things to the ASHFORD site... no matter the price, it will be too expensive in the end!! I want to GRRRRR, but know it won't get me far... But letting you in on their treachery will take me miles! All the best to you! [image]
