looking hard at this. how tough is it to size? ebay picture makes it look like pins but I'm not seeing any arrows.

JazzmanIt's a pin and collar (or friction pin). You'll need a pin pusher or a hammer and drift to push the pin out. Different from the pins you refer to as they can be pushed out in either direction. The pin has a groove around it in the middle which corresponds with an internal ridge on the collar. The collar sits in the centre section of the link and the thinner pin passes through the whole of the link.
