This is true. I'm in UK and by using Amazon US I get all the import fees included in a final price. This saves days here as I don't need to wait for a card through the door, then wait a day and then pay extra while I collect. Also I chose expedited delivery and will get the item in just a few days tracked to my door. And for me it's still about US $10 cheaper.

The ER2SE are quite good for the price. I would say better than Shure SE215 which are in this price neighborhood. If you have not used a deep insertion IEM, it may take a bit of acclimation, but the isolation is truly excellent. I use these when moving the lawn, etc., and the level of isolation provided by the ER2SE allows you to listen to music at a safe volume level. I found that the Shure foam ear tips (medium) are ideal for me. (The added benefit of the Shure foams is the wax gaurd incorporated into the tip.) If you like thumping bass, look elsewhere, though, you won't find it with either of these models. If you are looking for huge sound stage, not happening with these, either. Check the pricing with other dealers before joining the drop. At the time of the last drop of these models I was able to get them for $99 with two day delivery.

At the price I paid, I would say +/- $20 is "in the neighborhood." How about giving a guy a break?

Etymotic needs to come out with TWS adapters for their mmcx headphones. That'd be killer.

Seems like they are very similar, with the 2s being a little bit more bassy... Probably not enough to warrant both

These are dynamic drivers? I've got a few custom ear tips made for Etymotics, but they're for the ones that have balanced armature, and a few years ago, the ear tips weren't interchangeable between the balanced armature (small tip going towards ear) and dynamic driver (larger tip going towards ear). Anyone know if that incompatibility has changed? If you get these, or any Etys, spring for custom ear tips (unless your ear canals are really, really close to perfectly round.) All in-ear monitors work best with rock solid seals, and if you have very oval-ish, or almost rectangular ear canals like I do, my choice was always great sound with pain kicking in about an hour into listening because I had to use such a large tip, or so-so sound with no pain because I didn't put them deeply. With custom tips, that I could swap onto new Etys when I upgraded, I could listen for hours and hours (like a non-stop NYC to Hong Kong flight) without any discomfort. Ety used to subsidize custom molds (in the good old days) but even without, it's a couple hundred dollars for tips that you can use forever. Unless your dog gets hold of it. Yeah, lost one to my dog thinking it was doggy chewing gum. Didn't swallow it but chewed it for almost an hour before I noticed. Ugly. But thoughtfully removed it from the Etys before chewing.

You need two things - an otologist (ear doctor) or audiologist (someone who makes and fits hearing aids) to make a mold of your ear, either with goop, or with the new laser mapping tool. Then that is sent to a place that will make the silicone tips, and they need to know they're for Etys, and which model. I've used ACS in New York a couple times (one of my CIEMs is from them also), once my otologist ordered and supplied. Be aware that some peoples' ear canals can change over time with changes in weight and age. Mine haven't but I do know one (1) person who had to have her CIEMs all remade to her new ear canal shape about 8 years after getting them. I know many, many people who've had no changes that affect fit for decades. This page explains the custom fit process, with some contact info. https://www.etymotic.com/consumer/custom-fit

Before buying from this drop, do check other dealers as the price is in constant flux. For instance, on Amazon right now the XR is $150 but the SE is only $110, both with rapid shipping. A few weeks ago, the XR was $120 while the SE was $160 (and the ER3SE was floating around too). As for the headphones themselves, I bought a pair of ER2XR and rather like them!

I got mine off Amazon and did not receive the additional 2-flange tips. So yes, $5 off plus extra tips. So like $15 off.
