Waiting to hear some feedback regarding the warranty on these before purchasing. Standard drops sold through Massdrop only carry a 30 day warranty unless otherwise noted. If that’s the case than the extra $30 to buy through Etymotic is well worth it for a 2 year warranty. You’ll get it sooner too.

KismetskyI don't know why Massdrop has not responded regarding warranty? I as well has a few others have asked about it.

KismetskyIf the drop description does not specifically state that a manufacturer warranty is included, then there is no manufacturer's warranty included, only the 30-day MassDrop warranty.

Edit: Also, herer's what @WilcoRoger wrote related to warranty: "If you have ANY Etymotic product, in ANY condition (broken, etc) you are eligible for the Etymotic "Out-of-Warranty & Special Purchase Options". The ER3 series is sold at $125 in that programme, direct from Etymotic.com"

KismetskyGenerally speaking, MD staff ignore questions about warranty status and where they get their stock.
Personally, I'm giving the Campfire Audio Comet a try; it's $200, but the bass response from a single balanced armature seems to be better than the ER3XR.
Sorry I didn't answer this question much sooner; I started reading this drops' comments half an hour ago. I would have saved you quite a bit of time waiting for an official response from MD... 😁

I ended up cancelling my order. yeah, I was saving a little from buying it from an Australian Re-seller but for an extra AU$34 the 2 year warranty is worth it, for me anyways.
I'll need to check out those Campfire Audio Comet earphones. The design is nothing like I have seen before.

JakeRobertsBoy you was wrong, at least according to Tinyman. He reports that Etymotic covers the sales through here with their two year warranty because massdrop is an authorized reseller, or rather; official distributor.
