These are $10 more on Amazon and you can get them now. Am I just being the "this isn't a good deal" guy?
MrChaunceSR is MSRP (350) on Amazon...

GiantHeadphoneSquidI was only ever interested in the XR version so apparently I was being "that guy". I will show myself out.
MrChaunceLol, BUSTED JK :)
I'm just jealous, I would jump on Amazon for $10 more, but with Etys you gotta go pure. . . (well maybe with those hot new ER3 hussies, but let's not go there)

GiantHeadphoneSquidIs it really just the er4-s and er4-sr that are considered pure/the “ety sound”?
DavestefIt's a bit of a silly philosophical distinction. They are the closer representation of the Ety hearing model. The XR bass boost is the result of user feedback; it's more a harmon style 'this is what people like, not what they actually hear' design concession. That said the XR tuning sounds great. I went ahead and bought the ER4XR, and ER2XR (from Amazon, for cheaper and 1 day shipping) and it is an excellent earphone - you really can't go wrong with Ety.

GiantHeadphoneSquidI got the er4sr after going back and forth between the sr and xr. I’ll always wonder if I should have got the xr. People said the sr has the ety sound so I went with that. I’ll probably end up getting the xr eventually too 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just to be sure.

GiantHeadphoneSquidHow do you like the er2?
DavestefSR is the way to go, although I do enjoy having both. The ER2 is weird at its current price, it's so close to the ER3. The biggest difference is that it is harder to drive than both the ER3/4. . . not difficult by any means, but it requires substantial volume increase compared to my ER4 from the same source. This makes relative bass level comparison a bit tricky, but to my ear the dynamic isn't producing much difference in this respect. I myself would recommend the ER3 instead, but I imagine the ER2 will have its enthusiasts, it's a very capable IEM for the price.

GiantHeadphoneSquidMaybe it needs a dedicated amp? Why do you think sr is the way to go?
