Although I have requested the Etymotic ER4SR/XR, I'm in doubt I should purchase them - the ER4SR - and instead go for the Akoustyx R-220 (https://akoustyx.com). They're USD 199.99 but making a purchase based solely on a low(er) price is not always a wise choice.
I have never had both products in my ears. My only headset is the Flares Pro by Flare Audio.

No_username_availableI've heard that a better comparison might be the R210. Both look intriguing. I just bought a used pair of ER3XRs and LOVE them!!!
