I am really interested in buying those. From what I read, they correspond to what I'm looking for : neutral, good isolation and lots of details. The only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger is that I read everywhere that they have a narrow soundstage and don't do dynamics well. That is a big flaw. At that price, I expect good soundstage and dynamics. Are those shortcomings as bad as what I've read about?
I own the er2xr, they supposedly sound almost as good as the ER4. The fit is all right with memory foam just as long as you’re not laying down on a pillow then it’s uncomfortable because they sort of stick out of your ears at least for me they hurt too much to put them in my ears.
They do have suuuuuper narrow sound stage. However, the FA9 I just got blow my er2xr out of the water. A single dynamic driver like this I’m afraid will never compare to a multiple balanced Armature IEM or a hybrid.
Want like the best headphones? The terminators sound 97% as good as my FA9s/Andromeda’s. The er4 are technical/bland and boring headphones. They’re good on technicalities.
What is the "terminators" and the "FA9"?
Thank you. What exactly make the Fiio fa9 blow the E2XR out of the water?
Well, even the kz zsx do that. Er2xr sound flat and analytic, kind of meh. The kz or FA9 sound sparkly and makes your body shiver, FA9 also has SUPER perfect tight bass, and the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever worn they feel like they are made for my ears.
Nope, Never once thought the ER4SR/ER4S as being narrow or 2D. Many reviewers I've read seem upset it dosen't add any colour or flavour just straight neutral. While others are straight up ignorant like Crin's impression of the ER4PT & ER4XR make wonder why Reddit hype him hardcore, Since he thought the ER4S had -10db at 11.8KHz then reacted poorly when told it was an artifact?.
