How is this the "World's 1st 1080p wire-free camera" when the Arlo 2 Pro has been available for so long? Not sure you'd want that in the title, unless it means it's the 1st to have a 1 year battery life claim. I haven't seen any legitimate comparison reviews for these cameras vs. the Arlo Pro 2 cameras, which can be had for about the same price. It would be hard to justify buying a newcomer product that has not been reviewed thoroughly versus an established competitor for the same price. The advantage of these ones is that they claim to last a full year, vs the Arlos claiming to last 6 months (in my case, they last anywhere from 2-3 months - 6 month claim is highly overrated and situational). Depending on where these cameras are going to be installed, the battery life is highly dependent on the area not being a high traffic area. If these are pointed to your garden shed, they will last a lot longer than say a camera right by the front door. I like Anker and these new entries to the security camera space, but the apps tend to be more polished and smooth for older and more established companies like Netgear (even vs. more established companies like Yi). It seems like a leap of faith to go for these instead of some tried and true Arlo cameras, so unless some truly astonishing reviews (and price reduction) come out, I will not be switching over anytime soon.

jaeun87Read the other comment here from Kickstarter backers as credibility for it. I’m also a Ks backer and have 7 of these, and completely satisfied.

jaeun87Another advantage worth considering is the eufycam has no requirement for transmitting nor storing your content with Anker. Arlo does its object detection online, meaning it has to transmit images to their servers to make it work. The eufycam (not the eufycam e) has an AI accelerator built into the camera, so the camera itself does the face recognition. So it can be completely self contained within your home. It does, however, still connect online. Ubiquiti's Unifi Protect works in the same way, and calls it "hybrid cloud". The reason is the online service is required for remote access to the home base and for system updates. This is all the "cloud" is used for. Once the app is connected to your home base, all communication is direct.

BedastThat's interesting. Since I use the Arlo on battery power, it doesn't have any object detection features right now (not sure if it's even available at all, might be the newer model that does). Either way, it's not something I put much value on personally, so it would come down to price, battery life, image quality and how good the app itself is. I am sure they are comparable since I do like Anker quite a bit, but it would have to be a game changer for me to sell my current set up and put money down on a different ecosystem.
