I am a big boy and I like heavy switches. As a linear gang member they are perfect, smooth pretty and for now reliable. The lube is okay. I recommend putting them into a keyboard (if it is hotswap) and then just applying more lube if certain switches need it.
Hoooooooooly cow these are smooth. Like smoother than smooth. You think Durock linears are smooth? You ain't felt smooth. Slap some of these bad boys into your board and prepare for a linear experience unlike anything else. Mine were even perfectly factory lubed and the housing tolerances were perfect, meaning you don't have to do any extra work to them. They're totally stock, and they're totally sick.
I got some of these from Taobao recently. They came pre-lubed. The factory lube job is really good - the best factory lube job I've experienced so far. They are ever so slightly sluggish out of the box, but that clears up quickly with use. There's no need to relube.
These are the smoothest switches that I've tried. Smoother than other good linears that I have - v2 Tangies, Alpacas, Everglide Pinks.
There's no extra noise from these switches beyond bottoming out and the stem hitting the top of the switch on release. The lube job takes out much of that noise thoug. These are fairly quiet for not being silenced. No leaf noise. No spring crunch or ping.
There's very little play between the top and bottom housings, and therefore don't need to be filmed.
Overall these are exceptional switches.
I went with a weight that Drop isn't including in their buy - 37g. I greatly prefer very light linears. If I had to guess, Drop probably only wants to offer what they feel to be the most popular weights. Most people steer clear of anything lighter than 50g ime. On the Taobao listing I got them from they had them in 5 weights: 37g, 55g, 60g, 62g, and 67g.
TurboGrinderI'm also a big fan of ultra light weight switches. If you are into tactile, I put 35 gram springs in my massdrop holy pandas, and re-lubed them. The feeling is absolutely lovely, with a crisp "pop" sensation, owing to the front-loaded resistance profile of the holy pandas. Highly recommended for tactile fans!
How long does this take to ship?
5/24/21 UPDATE: STILL WAITING ON TRACKING INFORMATION AFTER LIKE 10 DAYS
5/26/21 UPDATE I unfortunately refunded them once again and now I bought tangerines
Btw these won’t ship any time soon when u order them bc ive been waiting 10 days
i know how it works when the drop ends it ships but still im not spending an extra 10 dollars when I can go get some at a different website. AND PLUS I got some tangies not some shitty ass aqua shit king
They are pretty terrible. The stock lube is too thick and seems to be silicon based, reminds me of dielectric grease. The switches are super slow not sure if it is polycarbonate on polycarbonate friction or the tolerances are too tight but there is crazy amount of friction I tried to delube one switch which made it absolutely unusable, it binds like hell to the point it gets stuck on upstroke. I will try lubing it with something thin like gpl 104.
***UPDATE***
The top housings are insanely tight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXHOzVUHLLs the stem snugly sits in it. Gladly I have bunch of loose zealio tops which mostly fix the issue, after lube there is still some friction similar to creams. But the stock switches are nearly unusable such unrefined product should not be sold here.
***UPDATE 2***
Compare that to zealio top https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeLlvuNIrBc
> With a total travel of 4 millimeters, these linear switches have a longer round trip than most other linear options
Isn't 4mm the travel distance of basically every mainstream switch produced?
jalfonsoEven that's a rosey view as you're averaging the additional cost across all switches. There is a 15 dollar difference between the 70 and 90 packs, meaning those 20 switches cost 15 dollars. So 75 cents per. Not a ton, but still...
