Aside from the discovery of the Holy Pandas back in 2018, it’s been a while since a mechanical switch has taken the mech keys community by storm. Everglide has something to say about that Read More

kleintrptThis thread is a disaster. I'm pretty sure both of them would laugh if they saw this. They're both experienced and respected members of the community, and they're creating very different content, so they're not even in competition with each other.
While Taekeyboards is technically lesser known, the original inference that he's some ripoff used to confuse people is ridiculous. He's been around for years and is definitely one of the bigger keyboard-specific YouTubers. The only reason for any kind of comparison is their names, which are only coincidentally similar. Taekeyboards has been around longer, but Tae Ha is just using his real name. Nobody copied anyone else.
In terms of experience, I just want to point out that video editing takes a long time. A 20 minute YouTube video would have had hours and hours of content and editing behind it, so the argument about streams being more content is silly.
This whole argument is stupid and pointless. You're trying to force a rivalry and push a narrative that just doesn't exist.
Chinspikeholy crap finally someone said something smart. This was me reading this whole thread for entertainment, I actively watch both their youtube channels & am subscribed to both lmao. Gotta love people sometimes arguing about what or who’s better.
Wish drop stop using fixed quantity options for switches and just set a minimum amount with 10 increments. What if I want extras (for broken switches) when I have 69 switches and don't want to buy 90?
Yes you offer a shitty solution that would create more costs for the factory in terms of time and material when a majority of people will be buying switch quantities for 60%s or TKL, which the 70 and 90 pack cover LOL.
Your discussion of Fulfillment Science 101 literally implies that you seem to have studied it in some sort of educational setting, so yes, you did imply it, and you denying it doesn't make you right, sorry buddy. I can devolve into a game of "I didn't say that" like you have been, but I realize since I can actually explain myself, I should go ahead and do that.
>"We're not set up to do that, and it's not something that we're considering. But I'll pass on your request."
Oh please, you'd bitch about that reply too lmao. You got an employee giving you the best possible reason they can - not a half assed "maybe we'll do it next time" - and you're complaining about it! How can I believe you'd be more happy with a less specific answer?
>They convinced the manufacturer to kill the lube... which also killed the secondary market for factory-lubed holy pandas.
Maybe because there was a shit load of people actually complaining and showing demand for having non-lubed switches, which gave Drop leverage, as opposed to the 10 people who want these switch packs in the quantity you're requesting lmao. Demand is a thing, and it speaks. You're in the minority, just like how bad opinions typically are.
>lol
Starting to see a trend here when you know you're wrong but don't want to admit it, oof...
>That's nice. Please let me know which GBs you're running, and I will stay far away. I don't like the idea of giving money to someone who thinks they are "at the mercy of the factory." If you don't know how to negotiate, then hire someone who does.
You got it buddy, would hate to have someone like you at the customer. That means I'd have to take your thoughts into consideration, and damn that would be a disaster!
>I'm not forcing you to do anything.
Sorry, I see BS, and kind of feel like I have to call it when I see it.
Ellicose> Yes you offer a shitty solution that would create more costs for the factory in terms of time and material when a majority of people will be buying switch quantities for 60%s or TKL, which the 70 and 90 pack cover LOL.
I offered a counterexample to demonstrate that you don't need to count out packs of ten in order to deliver increments of ten. And my counterexample is not only simple, but also cheap to implement.
Whether the majority of people prefer to buy 70 or 90 switches at a time is irrelevant. That's a totally separate matter, and not something that I particularly care about.
> Your discussion of Fulfillment Science 101 literally implies that you seem to have studied it in some sort of educational setting,
You can't be serious. It's an expression. An ironic way of saying "this is basic and obvious."
Reading comprehension is a pillar of the troll game. If you wanna play the game then you're gonna have to learn to recognize irony when you see it. That's Internet Trolling 101.
> Oh please, you'd bitch about that reply too lmao.
So now you can read my mind. This is when you know you've won an argument. When your opponent's best move is to pretend they can read your mind.
> They're more of a distributor, and as such they are at the mercy of the factory.
> lol
> Starting to see a trend here when you know you're wrong but don't want to admit it, oof...
I lol'd at your notion that distributors are at the mercy of factories. I'm going to lol again.
> Maybe because there was a shit load of people actually complaining and showing demand for having non-lubed switches, which gave Drop leverage
Massdrop has leverage because they're placing orders for 300K switches (or however many). They have negotiating power because of their large orders. Not because of angry keyboard geeks.
Why were people angry? Because Massdrop didn't use their leverage to ensure delivery of a solid product. These GBs are run, supposedly, by folks with MK expertise. They should know that NO ONE in the MK community wants factory lubed switches. This is keeb science 101. OF COURSE Massdrop's order size was large enough to kill the lube. We know that because they were happy to do it for the reorder. So why didn't they make sure it didn't happen the first time?
You've got some very wrong ideas about how stuff gets made and sold. If you want anyone to take you seriously, you're going to need to get those ideas out of your head. Distributors and vendors are NOT at the mercy of factories. You do NOT need angry customers in order to negotiate customized orders. Consumers ARE entitled to honest, transparent communication.
> Please let me know which GBs you're running, and I will stay far away.
> You got it buddy, would hate to have someone like you at the customer.
Glad we're on the same page. So which GBs are you running? I wasn't asking rhetorically.
> I'm not forcing you to do anything.
> Sorry, I see BS, and kind of feel like I have to call it when I see it.
Yes, we share a mutual dislike of bullshit. But that doesn't change the fact that we're both here voluntarily.
Another so called Group Buy where they deduct the money immediately, then sit and wait for 7 days to pass before closing this off.
The so-called 'Group Buy' which actually isn't at all. Talk about ripping off the customer with NO immediate delivery of product, yet still stand behind their bogus 7 day end of order campaign.
About time you finally fess up about when you collect the money and STOP calling this a Group Buy and say what it is, immediate payment for said item which won't be delivered any time this year.
So why the immediate stake up of money? Can understand if you actually have the product in your warehouse ready for distribution. But you don't, hence the question asked......
look at his post history, ive seen him around for awhile now. hes no troll. ive even commented on some of his many other post where he rants about not liking drop and not knowing what a group buy is but being a hypocrite and still buying from them over and over. there are some crazy people out there man.
I can sometimes forget there is a human behind the website, my apologies.
I still don't agree with the price though. Your mentioning the price of Zeal switches and after market prices makes me think that you thought long and hard about what price you could set these Everglidses at. I don't buy that they are suddenly more expensive than every other JWK made switch. If you can show paperwork from the manufacturer showing a larger quote than the regular Everglides I'd be more inclined to understand your side as the supplier.
I was excited for the GB, but the discount was the major selling point. I'm happy this avenue is available, but I cannot justify the price point. Would rather wait for another smaller GB that can obtain the discount.
I'm not disappointed in you, I'm disappointed in myself for still joining this buy. I'll gladly take my public shaming in the comment section now. I want these switches.
why are they almost 1$ per switch....... everglide oreos are available on aliexpress for 1/2 the price and will still arrive sooner than these switches
edit: just realized these are the moyu blacks....... still, where is the 30% discount (brings price down to ~.67 per switch) at 3000MOQ? very shady stuff goin on here
DanielPalmaaOreos and Dark Jades are different switches, as I've stated before Oreos are comparable to the sound and bump feel of v2 zealios and Holy Pandas to Dark Jades. Please don't automatically link comparison of prices when the switches are different material/cost/feel.
We are not ordering MOQ, we are working with a vendor based on a number of how many of you guys join the drop. Still, there is going to be the cost of international shipping and fulfillment to get these switches to your doorstep. If you feel comfortable ordering elsewhere or try direct, by all means go for it. I've tried my best to get these priced as best as possible with the vendor and have all information presented up front to the consumer.
Thanks for your thoughts Daniel.
SpencerLcool, but the *original* group buy for these koyu black switches are using a vendor from taobao, the same vendor you are using has a 3000moq for a 30% discount, why don’t you do this for your own customers? yikes
