I usually think of a base layer as something that covers you from the ankles up. Like in winter when you wear a thermal layer under your regular office clothes. Or in the spring and summer when you might wear a wicking layer. This is just underwear.

Massdrop's sizing chart was dead-on for me. The boxers are light, close fitting without being restrictive, breathable, and move with you. I had a $25 credit which made Massdrop the best deal in town. Definitely shop the price before buying though (per the comments below).

Completely agree with several comments... The price is not a good deal and even worse with paying for shipping.

Not a special deal - Amazon has for $16/pair (though it could be last year's model + min $25 purchase for free shipping)

Is it normal for sizing in these to be about a size smaller than other brands? They are super tight and give me perma-wedgie...

Wow, got excited because I own 7 pairs of ExOfficio and would gladly buy more. This price is downright awful. Costco and Amazon beats this deal easily.

They carry Ex-Officio at Costco? Looks like I need to start walking through the clothes a bit more when I go there.

I love these but this is a terrible price. The brand name stuff is cheaper all over the place, and Duluth Trading Co's "Buck Naked" briefs are (so far as I can tell) the same material and build.

I have both and although they look similar, the officio is a softer textile. Despite that, I still strongly prefer the Duluth. They're cut fits much better, rides up way less, and they will last for at least several years. The officio have lasted as well but because they are softer, they have pilled considerably more. Hardly any pilling on the Duluth after 3.5 years. Both are great for travel and activities where you'll want to stay dry and cool. Stick to Duluth.

I'm anxious to try these but I think I'd rather try the Ex Officio Give-n-Go Sport mesh since they don't have the Guillotine style front on them. Does anyone really weave their junk through that thing?
Also, regarding all of the comments about other brands, I find that fit can be excellent (I'm thinking Adidas) but so few companies use an antimicrobial and that is the key to using synthetic underwear.

These are great boxer briefs but this price sucks. Amazon beats this consistently buying singles. I can generally pair a single pair for about $13.50 so I would expect a good deal on a two pack to be about $20.
Apr 14, 2018
I love these boxers, but this price, even if it were a 3 pack, is not good at all.

the boxers work well with cotton pants for long drives. i think the moisture passes through them and into the cotton pants.

Not a good price AT ALL. Even REI offers them for less. I hate when Massdrop does this. Feels like trickery.

Just bought 3 pairs of Large for $11.21 a pop on Amazon Prime. Good call! https://www.amazon.com/ExOfficio-Mens-Give-n-Go-Boxer-Brief/dp/B00AIEHS2Q?th=1&psc=1

I worked for the forest service and now Army. I do a lot of day hiking and I've hiked the PCT.
Hands down this is the best underwear on the market. I bought enough for my whole wardrobe about 3 years back they are still in perfect condition.

I got a couple pair of these in a past drop - and they are /really- comfortable. The band does have a tendency to fold over itself a bit and crease, but beyond that, really nice and comfy underwear. I was pretty sure I was going to swap out everything I had - mostly boxers from GAP that recently changed their design and had become a lot less comfortable to wear.... having said that, there is a better option. We should get a drop going for Saxx: https://www.saxxunderwear.com/ I swear I'm not getting paid by or getting free stuff from these guys, but oh man... they are ExOfficio PLUS. Similar feeling but better quality weave and the 'ballpark pouch'. That's -the- friggin golden spot. Honestly, I don't know how they'll stack up against time - particularly with the extra material to make up for the pouch - but I find myself on the edge of wearing them a couple days in a row because I've only got 3 pair at the moment. These ExOfficio are comfy but man... the saxx ones are just awesome.
edit: Ah, I see there are actually drops for Saxx >_> soooo I guess disregard that bit.

I ordered a pair of these exact boxers on Amazon a few months ago. I really like them but they were $14 each with free 2 day shipping. Why should I pay $16 each plus shipping plus wait a month for them to ship? They are $18 on Amazon right now but probably only strategically until this drop is over, then they will lower the Amazon price again.
This is not really a Massdrop worthy deal here. I thought the point of Massdrop was to deliver value to the customers.

Unless you don't live in US and amazon is not shipping to you, so you either buy the stuff from a local shop and pay 40$ for 1 or in my case pay 40$ for 2 with shipping on MD..

I don't know about your experience with ExOfficio Underwear, but the elastic in the waistbands of mine all gave out after about a year of use. Floppy underwear=bad underwear.
I've switched to Uniqlo airism underwear instead. They've haven't lost any stretch at all over a longer time period. https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men/airism-collection/boxer-briefs

I am genuinely dissapointed to find that I can go through nearly the entire process of ordering these, to find that it doesn't ship to AUS. Considering the fact that I've bought all of my previous pairs in a Drop, voted for their return, and simply wanted to get a few more, I think it's a stupid decision.

I bought two pairs of these for a trip to Costa Rica 5 years ago and alternated them for 3 weeks washing in a sink and hang drying. One is still in my circulation in great condition and the other I lost, and as of this purchase i will have phased my entire wardrobe to these. Are they expensive? Yes. But they are worth it. They last phenomenally well, they can be washed and dried by hand without issue, and they really dont smell even when backpacking around a tropical country for 3 weeks. Above and beyond all that, they are incredibly comfortable. They dont bunch or ride up or get sweaty, they just are there without me ever noticing them- everything i ever hoped for every other type of boxer i tried which all ended up disappointing.
