WARNING Permethrin (chemical used as ”insect shield” in this item and other clothing is TOXIC TO CATS.
If you have cats or will be around them forget using this. It causes permanent neurological damage even in low doses or exposure.
Thought the gecko was labeled incorrectly : why not have a back up description : gecko is green colo or something like that... annoying when they screw up basic stuff like this. Does anyone check their work for mistake?
I like how it feels against my skin, good for hot weather, however size is much bigger than I expected, especially in sleeves, in fact its so big, it looks like design choice, I didn't like it and ordered small one next drop.
Two facts I got from tags: FPS 20 | Permethrin 0.52% Garment 99.48%
the price is a bit high for polyester soaked in permathrin. you can do this yourself by mixing permathrin and water and put your cloths in the mix. then just let it air dry outside.
GangstaPizzaDon't worry. I didn't. But I did find some on discount at Sierra trading post. Was very convenient not soaking and drying diy.
I've been washing the bugs away shirts in the washer with only little amounts of detergent and then letting them air dry, hopefully that should prolong the chemicals.
Even at this costs on MD, I think it's worth it for convenience. And if it wears out I can always buy more permathin and soaking them in a bucket.
DannyMilksSomeone must have changed the photos since I posted. The current "gecko" image used to be a much bluer shirt. Also now the titles for "gecko" and "navy" have been swapped ("gecko" was and should be the green one). If you look on ExOfficio's site or on Amazon, the gray shirt which you've used for the photos doesn't match up to any of "cement", "navy", or "gecko".
