I thought this was a Swedish design. All information I can find says Swedish, too.
Anyway, I have one of these, just the master ring not the "system". It's nice for when you want something smaller and more secure than a giant mess of clips and carabiners, but you still want somewhat quick attach and release. The main issue I've had is that the thickness (width) of the steel doesn't work well for everything that would otherwise work with a keyring. Like, say, a yubikey; the hole is too narrow. It's easy to solve by adding a small (normal) keyring to to each of those items, though.
I'm curious what these smaller rings in this "system" are though? They look like small versions of the master ring, but don't seem to have the easy-open mechanism that's the whole point of the FREEKey? What about these "smart rings" makes them "smart"?
