I had to replace the Exotac Titanlighter flint. I use Zippo flints but ... Attempting to get a spark all I got were blisters from flicking the wheel and not getting a spark. The striking wheel is tightly held against the flint that striking a spark is impossible. Is there an easy way to 'break' the flint in?
JJSchwartzI had the same issue with my brand new lighter. The flint was pushing against the wheel so tightly that the wheel could not rotate freely. I contacted Exotac regarding it and they offered to send me replacement flints and spring to see if it fixes the issue. However, no replacement flint were sent to me and follow up emails were ignored. Marvelous customer service indeed!
JJSchwartzi lay my flints down and slit them in half i use bik lighter flints when the old one runs out of fluid you just lay down the flint on a 2x4 and take your knife and press where you want to cut it then put it in your lighter
How long will the fuel stay in it if it's not used for a period of time?I found that zippos evaporate too quickly for me to bother with them, so I just keep a bic in my pocket (I'm not a smoker, but they're handy & also a smart survival carry item).
I got one in the last drop. It’s very well made, works well — and yes, easy to overfill!

chaosmagnetSaw a video on youtube, the guy contacted the manufacturer about it. They told him that you should use about 3ml of fuel which is about 2 filled rear cap. He never had a problem after that :)
mt12I just got mine today and it came out of the package with the pin popping out. I think it was an assembly issue, we'll see.
A few days later, I had to return mine, the unit was defective, the threads on the bottom were not cut correctly and the bottom just fell off and the top was very loose as well.
Dave Canterbury does a great video on this lighter as well as explaining how much fluid to put in it. The tendency is to overfill it. Follow his instruction and you'll be good to go on first use. These are way better than zappos.
Pro tip: buy 2, same shipping cost 😁
These look nice, and I've been meaning to get a refillable lighter or two to have around anyway. Since they will only see occasional use I like the idea of the seals on this one. Here's hoping they live up to the hype for the price
KavikI was skeptical at first, and had some issues figuring out filling at first, but now I love it. I bought it in September, filled it once in the first month from playing with it so much, and haven’t filled it since. I joined this drop just to get a backup in case I lose the first one.
nrthmnNice
Yeah, I'm hoping to just keep one in the car "in case of emergencies" and will plan to just check on it every few months to see how the fluid level is holding up.... Maybe time it with my oil change so I don't forget lol
Will be interested to see if they come out with a more pocket friendly size in the near future
Ernestheticexotac's sale said , flint can use but they use longer wick.
so they will have a refill kit available shortly.
not get the lighter yet so i can't test it...
