Faber-Castell Basic Fountain Pen
Substantial Pen in 4 Finishes
For those who prefer pens with some heft, the Faber-Castell BASIC is an absolute pleasure. The metal barrel lends satisfying weight to each stroke, while the grip section features horizontal grooves, soft-touch coating, and enough length to accommodate the big-mitted among us. Made from the same hard rubber as the section, the snap-on cap features a spring-loaded clip and the company name in relief. Inside, the stainless steel nib bears a dotted design and offers a remarkably smooth writing experience for the price. For many, the BASIC will be top-heavy enough to use without posting.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of barrel finishes between Satin Chrome, Shiny Chrome, Black Carbon (+ $6), and Black Leather (+ $6). Nib sizes are available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad. This pen accepts standard international cartridges, but requires the proprietary Faber-Castell converter (not included).

254 Years of Excellence
Established in 1761 by Kaspar Faber—who began his career as a cabinetmaker in the Bavarian city of Stein—Faber-Castell remains a family business today. Now helmed by an eighth-generation Faber-Castell, it stays true to its tenets of quality, tradition, and innovation, and has expanded its line of fine writing instruments to include drawing and crafting products for students and children.
