Product Description
From Faber-Castell, a penmaker whose history dates back to 1761 Germany, the Ondoro is classically styled with a hexagonal barrel that provides a comfortable grip. Available in your choice of resins or smoked oak wood, the barrel is framed by a chrome-plated metal cap and pocket clip, and is fitted with a stainless steel nib Read More
I have an ambition that I love—except it dries out and hard starts pretty much every overnight (capped, of course). Does anyone who owns an Ondoro have a similar issue?
writerstephenI had an Ambition a while back. I sold it because it was a bit too slim for me. Had no issues, no hard starts.
Does it happen with all inks?
Finally received my pen today in Malaysia. The nib feels slightly rougher than what i am accustomed to (using Pelikan, Montblanc, Platinum & Lamy) but will get used to it.
As far as steel nibs go, I really like the FC nibs. However, the price on this one is up in the range of lower model Pilot/Sailor pens that come with a solid gold nib. In all, the $80-110 range is highly competitive and better buys are readily available. If you really like the design though, this is a good price compared to regular retail.
This pen should slot in about $60-65 base and $90 for oak. At the current price, I'll pass.
I got my Custom 92 from Amazon, sold by Amazon with prime shipping for $118. Prices fluctuate, I knew from Camelizer that I could get it for less ($108), just didn't want to wait.
$120 give or take is the going price for it right now, on eBay and Amazon.
Nice... I had an FC Ambition and its steel nib was buttery smooth. Sadly, I lost it a few months ago. With this Ondoro, I hope to experience again this FC nibs.
Can someone confirm that the Greybrown version comes with the chrome grip as shown in the photo? I know it's a small detail but the grip on the resin versions is usually the same resin as the body, and the greybrown with chrome is a less common version.
I've been eyeballing this pen for a while. Got mine a couple weeks ago. Oak. Love it. Graf von Faber Castell Carbon Black is in it. EF nib is similar to a Lamy EF. My problem is now I want one with with a broad nib. Maybe in orange? Oh, the ink cartridge it shipped with exploded - thankfully the pen was wrapped and wasn't covered with ink.
