StalbjornIt is a clear and vivid indication "One can not regulate or mandate morality!!!"
A determined killer can use brute strength, fire-accelerated by petrol, a wicket
bat or baseball bat, a length of wire, rope or nylon line, a piece of lumber, a tree
limb, the jaw-bone of an Ass, or about any other object if they perform their
actions with impunity. A gun or knife or any other "superior strength" item
used by an imbecile, madman (or woman) can become deadly. Blaming an
inamate object of a crime is like blaming a writing instrument for misspelled words.
Lock Picks often sold on this site do NOT guarantee a buyer can become a thief.
ReadyFreddyMy understanding is that in normal circumstances, knives, like guns, cannot be carried through immigration in most countries worldwide. In many countries, it is an offense to carry a knife in public, nor can they be imported without special permission. They are regarded as weapons. As far as I am aware, the thugs responsible for unprovoked attacks on strangers in many countries do not choose egg-beaters or fly swats. Your “clear and vivid indication” would appear not to carry much weight among governments or police forces worldwide.
rmeurantNormal circumstances !!! Of course and the largest percentage of the human race fall into that category. It is that very small percentage that give me concern. I 100-% believe I have the right to protect my family and myself. I never carried a firearm outside the United States, but it would be foolish to believe I would not be carrying some sort of Baton, walking stick, umberlla or another form of equalizer that would be instantly available to me to engage a person foolish enough the engage me in an attack. In my world wide travels, I have seen knives, swords, bayonets openly sold at flea markets, or in Singapore (clandestinely sold to "tourists", also in Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, France, England, Netherlands, Estonia, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and on and on and on. A determined person can acquire almost any "weapon" they desire either openly in most cases, or under the counter or a blanket. And that applies every I have every traveled, World wide (Except Africa)
rmeurantReality is real. In these times in any major City in America, the Goons, Drug, 2 Legged Animals that prey on the weak (senior citizens-infirmed-handicapped) get a real suprise when the PREPARED target is able to defend themselves.
ReadyFreddyThat is America’s problem, which it might eventually take responsibility for by implementing realistic gun laws, as New Zealand did recently in the wake of the Christchurch massacre: and actually doing something about the violence the US continually endorses. It is absolutely not the case in Seoul, or in Tokyo, or in smaller cities in Korea or Japan.
rmeurantA madman that is allowed to roam free in the public domain knows he is not mandated or regulated by some laws written on a piece of paper. The Madman is the problem-or Insane,or chemically imbalanced or what ever other excuse the "brain experts call these actions. I am not going to argue about the lack of gun crimes in any other Country. Nor am I going to get into the number of people that are slashed, stabbed, bludgoned, incenerated, poisoned by non gun articles in Seoul, Tokyo, London, Paris, etc. I choose to protect my family by any means possible and due to my advanced tears on this Earth, I will seek the upper hand by whatever means are at my disposal. Live Free or Die. I will say no more on this subject.
