I bought the drop prior to this and would have preferred the Coccobolo scales. The Valet by the way is a differerent type of knife and I don't think compared to the Fallkniven at all, especially in size as the Valet is kid sized. The Emmissary would be much better choice. While I like my Anthem clearly better than the Fallknifen, my go-to-knife has been my Stimulus for the past 2 decades. It has never failed me, is the right size, can take a licking, and has a benign, clean understyle to it and comes in auto. If I had to buy one and only one knife, it would be the Stimulus. Then the Anthem, followed probably by a 940 and maybe the Apparition (exactly the type of reasoning that resulted in my current predicament being that I got a shitload of knives I have never used but plenty looked at AND the safe being full..). As one can tell, I have a particular affinity for Benchmade; have been buying them since the started selling knives and for me Benchmade has just worked. I am not happy with their current lineup, but maybe they have jumped the shark, which would be OK given the issue with my safe. And all this is meaningless blabber that has nothing to do with the post..... my apologies

DesastorI'm wondering why you think the emissary would be a closer comparison to this than a valet. I've handled both benchmades, but I've only seen pictures of the fallkniven. Just going by measurements this knife (3in blade, 7in overall) appears far closer in size to the valet (2.96in blade 6.7in overall) to the emissary (3.45in blade 8in overall). Spec sheets don't always tell the full story, was hoping for some insight.

NotsurewhyibotherBc the Valet is so impossibly small in terms of his handle geometry to handle for someone with large hands. Its not always about inches and in terms of the Valet, its deceivingly useless. While the Emmisary is much larger than both knives, the Fallkniven is much closer to the Emissary than the Valet. If I would not buy to collect but to use I would not purchase either the Valet nor the Fallkniven as they fall short on useability

DesastorThanks for the insight. Sounds like this fills the hand better than the valet despite similar dimensions. It's nice to get perspective from someone with hands on experience. I wish I had a local retailer with a good knife selection so I could get my hands on a wider variety of options to compare.

NotsurewhyibotherIf you want a knife similar to the Fallkniven, I’d recommend the 940. Its elegant, nice to hold, has a beautiful blade and design and bc of its smooth action blade come out lightning fast with a flick of the wrist. Its too much “gentleman “ for me although I got 4 of them in various configurations. If I got time and if you’re interested I can drag some knives out for photo comparison. Unless you’re collecting, there are better choices for equal or even less money. Sportsman’s warehouse is surprisingly competitive especially if they have sales.
