Quasi parfait

Beautiful knife, well crafted. Been waiting to purchase that knife for a long time. Wish it had a clip.

Perfect every day carry knife. Refined enough for emergency table duty but still capable of handling most trail chores. Just the right size to fit in a slim belt case but not so bulky that you can't just jam it into your pocket.

Love this knife. The only thing that would make it better (for me) is if it had a pocket clip...........but I totally understand that a knife of this design/style would never have a pocket clip.......so I get it.

So I recieved my Fallkniven GP Gentleman's folder today. My first impression is that it has real weight to it. Once I looked at the blade I could see where that weight came from. I imagine that with lamination you can only go so thin. It has a big old belly and long nail nick. The hamon is really eye catching. The grind is even and the factory edge is as expected. The etchings on the blade face don't bother me. It is a really great balance of utility and looks
Opening is smooth and tight. Zero grit or play. The liner lock snaps in and positions appropriately. There is a tiny amount of lock stick but it'll wear in to perfection I imagine. The lock seems thin to me, but taking it to failure I think falls outside of the intended design. The "opening inertia" is adjustable via the torx head pivot. It came out of the box fairly loose but not dangerously so. Blade centering is not perfect.
The micarta scales are nicely done, they remind me of burlap micarta but not quite. The shields are recessed somewhat and ok looking. They provide a small bit of grip but will fill up with gunk over time. The color is very dark. Almost brown in certain light which I like. The scales are attached with torx head screws for ease of dissembly and cleaning. With one complication that leads me to what I really don't like. The shackle is thin, bends easily and has kind of sharp edges that are likely to fray your lanyard of choice. It is also the one thing that is pinned in through the scales and frame. So those convenient screws to remove the scales just allow the scales to be slid to the side. If the shackle were as beefy as the blade I might forgive this. I'm considering my own modification of adding a real bow shackle that I can unscrew.
In conclusion this is a lovely and unusual knife. Well constructed, but with some design flaws. You are paying a premium for the laminated Cobalt steel, the name, and Scandinavian heritage. This knife is overpriced by $75 in my opinion. For a collector it's an interesting knife. It might be at home in a bespoke suit if I owned one. I will add to my edc rotation and see how I feel about it in a couple of years.

It's a very decent knife. The blade shape and weight are good. Materials are excellent and blade came sharp. It's a handsome knife.
Dedent on the blade could be stronger. It easily opens to a degree I'm not terribly comfortable with in my pocket. I really wish all the non blade edges came chamfered. Especially the lockbar is particularly sharp and uncomfortable. Also having "gentlemen's knife" on tht blade seems a bit gaudy and unnecessary.
Honestly this knife is more pretty than useful. The packaging was way over the top as well. I would've rather saved $10 with simpler packaging that's easily recyclable.

This is a glorious knife. The action is superb and the finish is stellar. I dig the green Micarta scales - and the bail is a perfect compliment to the knife. Most impressive packaging too! This thing is almost too nice to carry. Maybe I need another...
